If you are worried your Windows 10 may be threatened by a virus, it is important to run a Norton scan on your PC. Norton will automatically update virus definitions and sometimes run scans automatically, but if you are worried, you can run a manual Quick Scan to analyze areas of your computer that are most vulnerable. Besides a Quick Norton Scan, you can choose a Full System Scan, a Custom Scan, or even a Norton Power Eraser Scan.
Here are the steps for checking if your Windows 10 has viruses:
- Start Norton
- In My Norton window, next to Device Security, click on Open
- In the main window, double-click Security, and then choose Scans.
- In the Scan window, you will see Scans and Tasks, and next to that choose one of the following:
- Quick Scan > Go
- Full System Scan > Go
- Custom Scan > Go, then click Run next to Drive, Folder or File Scan to choose the part of the computer to be scanned
Click Finish in the Results Summary; review the risks in the Threats Detected window if needed.
